Finally name arrived for latest android version. The name we will be called Android Pie. Initially, it will come start rolling out in pixel smart phones from today itself. Google has repeated last year’s practice of announcing the final build for its OS months before launching its next generation of Pixel flagship smartphones.
Android Pie Available
From today, those who have any Pixel devices – Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, will be able to update their phones to Android Pie, which is the final build of the OS. Those with Pixel devices should lookout for an over-the air Android Pie update on their phones. This can be done by going over to the Settings of your Pixel device and checking for software updates in the ‘System Update’ setting.
Size would be of Android Pie 9.0 update is about 1GB.
Only pixel devices can update the latest version of android 9.0 from today and rest of the other smartphone devices will get alert later. Like Vivo, OPPO, Samsung, LG, Sony, OnePlus will get alert later.
Those with Android One smartphones – like the Xiaomi Mi A1, Mi A2, all the Nokia phones, and more – should also expect the Android Pie update in the fall.
How to Install Android 9 Pie on the Google Pixel & Pixel 2
- Download the OTA image for your device
- Move it to the internal storage of your device
- Make sure you’ve set up ADB if you haven’t already
- Reboot to recovery with the following command: adb reboot recovery
- Select the option “Apply update from ADB”
- Sideload the OTA with the following command: adbsideload
Installing the latest version of Android is easy as pie: Simply go to settings >About phone > System updates > Check for updates > Download and install.
